We are looking for an experienced Food Service Manager for Apex Kosher Catering located at 100 Elder St, North York, ON M3H 5G7, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of Apex Kosher Catering’s certified-kosher kitchen and event-based food service functions to ensure smooth, efficient execution.
Plan and coordinate all aspects of kosher catering services for weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, corporate functions and community events.
Collaborate with the executive chef to design and customize kosher-compliant menus reflecting client preferences, dietary requirements and current catering trends.
Recruit, train and supervise kitchen staff, banquet servers and event support personnel, ensuring strict adherence to kosher protocols and service standards.
Prepare staff schedules, assign roles for on-site events, and oversee service execution to maintain professionalism and consistency.
Manage inventory of kosher ingredients, specialty items, serving equipment and event supplies; negotiate with kosher-certified vendors for cost-effective procurement.
Monitor revenues, COGS, staffing expenditures and event profitability; recommend changes to pricing structures or operational processes as required.
Ensure full compliance with COR kosher certification rules, public health regulations, food safety standards and workplace safety policies.
Conduct client consultations to finalize event scope, service expectations, menu selections and venue logistics.
Coordinate on-site event operations including kitchen setup, buffet or plated service arrangements, staff briefings and post-event teardown.
Address client concerns or service issues promptly during event planning and execution to uphold exceptional customer satisfaction.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as workflow optimization, upgraded service models, and enhancements to event presentation.
Maintain accurate operational documentation including vendor agreements, kosher-compliance logs, event summaries and staffing records.
Work with sales or planning teams to develop proposals for large-scale kosher events and negotiate custom service packages.
Lead post-event evaluations to assess quality of service, identify operational gaps and execute corrective measures.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management or equivalent
Experience & Skills: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in Hospitality Industry
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $36 to $38 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
