· Work location: On site
· Salary: 23.30 hourly
· Terms of employment: Full time, / 30 to 40 hours per week
· Start Date: 2026-03-24 and End Date is approximately 2026-11-21 (this may vary depending on seasonal weather conditions impacting the start and end date of the workers. Hence, the start and end dates may either be earlier or later than indicated above)
· Employment conditions: starting hours of the day will vary as season approaches its peak hours. Beginning may be 7 am and starting time will change as early as 4.30am. Must be available to work in all weather conditions and any shift including Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening occasionally up to 10pm, Weekends, and holidays. No overtime or statutory holiday pay (as per ESBC).

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
You are responsible for the care of honeybee colonies, the harvesting of honey and hive products, and the maintenance of equipment in apiary setting.
· Responsible for hive management including caring for, feeding, and checking the health of honeybee colonies.
· You must perform inspections such as checking for queen performance, disease, parasites, and food reserves.
· Harvest honey by extracting honey from combs using manual or automated extractors and fill honey barrels and containers.
· You will perform duties related to product processing including collecting and packaging honey, beeswax, and pollen.
· You are required to maintain equipment by repairing and cleaning hive boxes, smokers, and machinery like forklifts and trucks.
· You are responsible for site maintenance including maintaining the bee yard and surrounding area, including controlling vegetation.
· You must conduct all Seasonal Prep including preparing colonies for pollination and over-wintering.
You are required to keep records in maintaining accurate, daily, or weekly reports on hive health and production.
Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
Maintain quality control and production records.
Recognizing, reporting, monitoring hive health issues and applying appropriate treatment/controls.
Perform general farm duties.
Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
Work with honeybees.
Weeding.
Clean work area, Remove litter and garbage, leaves, snow etc.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Experience and specialization
Apiary and honey harvesting experience: Harvesting honey, Honey farm, Harvest, extract and package honey and beeswax
Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system, Fertilizer applicator, Harvesters, Hand tools
Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available. On-site housing can be provided for a fee.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 45 kg/100 lbs) and repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Must not have allergies to bee stings. Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including high heat.
