We are seeking an experienced Foreman / Lead Decorator to supervise and coordinate decorative and finishing work on residential and/or commercial projects. The successful candidate will lead a team of decorators, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain project timelines.
Main Duties:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of decorators and finishing workers
Plan and schedule work to meet project deadlines
Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure quality standards are met
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Prepare surfaces and oversee painting, wallpapering, plastering, and decorative finishes
Order materials and ensure efficient use of supplies
Train and mentor junior staff and assign duties
Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations
Communicate with project managers, clients, and other trades as required
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of work experience in decorating, painting, or finishing trades
Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role is an asset
Strong knowledge of decorative techniques (painting, wallpapering, finishing)
Ability to read blueprints and project specifications
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Basic English language proficiency
Additional Information:
Work may involve standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and working at heights
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as per safety regulations
Full time 30 hours per week
Hourly Rate $ 36.50
