Responsibilities
Tasks
Instruct apprentices
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
Order parts and maintain inventory
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Perform repair work on heavy trucks
Identifying and diagnosing issues with diesel engines and related systems
Replacing faulty components within diesel engines, fuel injectors, turbochargers, pistons, valves, and belts
Perform other routine maintenance
Inspect and evaluate the condition of engine parts, assess fluid levels and quality, test electrical systems, and conduct performance evaluations.
