Saucier
We are looking for a well-experienced Saucier to work for Sula Indian Restaurant Main Street located at 4172 Main St, Vancouver, BC V5V 3P7, Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare Indian gravies, curry bases, sauces, marinades, and accompaniments according to restaurant recipes and standards.
Cook and finish dishes such as butter chicken gravy, makhani sauce, korma, tikka masala, vindaloo, kadai, and other regional Indian curry preparations.
Ensure proper balancing of Indian spices, herbs, and seasonings for authentic taste and consistency.
Assist in preparation of tandoori marinades, chutneys, and specialty house sauces.
Monitor food quality, freshness, taste, texture, and presentation before service.
Maintain mise en place and ensure all curry bases and sauces are prepared in advance for smooth kitchen operations.
Follow portion control and minimize food wastage.
Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards are maintained in compliance with restaurant and health regulations.
Coordinate with Head Chef and kitchen team during busy service periods.
Store ingredients properly and monitor inventory levels for spices, dairy products, vegetables, and other sauce ingredients.
Assist in developing new Indian sauce recipes and seasonal menu items when required.
Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Train junior kitchen staff on preparation techniques and Indian cooking methods if required.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years in the Food Industry.
Language: English
Other skills;
Good Knowledge of Indian Cuisine
Hourly Rate: $36.60 for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
