• Location: 108 Chestnut St, Toronto, ON, M5G 1R3
• Salary: $57000 per annum less all deductions required by law, paid bi-weekly.
• 1 vacancy
• Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, 30 hours per week.
• Benefits: discounted hotel stays rates as per availability. Extended health benefit, premium paid by the employer. Meal discounts in the hotel restaurant. Employee may be eligible for bonus maximum up to 10% of annual wage depending on the company’s business performance in that particular calendar year.
• Start date: As soon as possible
• Employment conditions: Must be available to work early morning, morning, day, evening, and weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
Job requirements
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of food industry experience.
Personal suitability: Accurate, Organized, Team player, Ability to multitask
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Large workload
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant’s profits.
· Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies.
· Evaluate daily operations.
· Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget.
· Monitor revenues to determine labour cost.
· Supervise staff and Train junior staff
· Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations.
· Organize and maintain inventory.
· Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
· Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
· Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities.
· Participate in marketing plans and implementation.
· Leading/instructing individuals.
· Manage events.
· Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, restaurant and food service area.
· Assist cooks/chefs with preparation of food orders in peak hours.
· Any other duties as required per business needs.
Credentials: Safe Food Handling certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance
