processing industry is looking for DEPARTMENT ENGINEERING MANAGER to perform the
following:
Specific Skills:
1. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate activities and operations of the department
by developing business plans, strategies, and tactics to grow and sustain business in
powder and food markets; studying, defining, and demonstrating ability to identify,
develop and seek out new market areas with proven success where Piovan, including
Penta and Pelletron brands, has not fully leveraged opportunities.
2. Develop and implement technically and commercially correct proposals, policies,
standards, and procedures for the department with regard to customer relationships
and quickly interpret customer’s inquiries by way of in-person meetings, group
presentations, trade shows, telephone, and email.
3. Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications and explain proposals and
present engineering reports and findings specifically in connection with obtaining
quotations from sub-vendors with opportunity’s specifications being considered and
accurately processing new sales orders (SAP and other business processes) and kick off
meetings to hand-off pre-sale knowledge to Project Engineering.
4. Assign, coordinate and review the technical work of the department or project teams
such as the following: generate process flow diagrams (AUTOCAD 2D) to illustrate
concepts and understand P&ID drawings, detailed engineering drawings and project
specification documents related to engineered powder and food systems.
5. Oversee development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas as well as
support and direct representatives who are present in certain regions.
6. May participate directly in the design, development, and inspection of technical projects
or in engineering work of the department more specifically in the generation of
quotations for pneumatic and liquid conveying systems and components.

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Employment Requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is usually required.
2. Extensive experience in an engineering discipline, including supervisory experience, is
required.
3. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
of professional engineers is usually required.
Credentials:
1. Extensive experience in an engineering discipline, including supervisory experience.
2. Proven ability to write proposals and produce other general business correspondence like
sales reports and technical statements.
3. Ability to use AutoCAD 2017+ for 2D CAD.
4. Working knowledge of all major Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
5. Knowledge of pneumatic conveying technology equipment, bulk material handling
equipment, dust collection
equipment and selling custom engineered systems is usually required. This is a very
important point in the interview process.
