Responsibilities
· Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
· Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine wiring layouts and system requirements.
· Plan and execute wiring installations, including underground and overhead systems, in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
· Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform diagnostics on faulty systems, components, and equipment.
· Test electrical systems using appropriate tools to ensure proper functioning and safety.
· Supervise and mentor apprentices and junior electricians on job sites.
· Ensure all work meets safety standards, regulatory codes, and project timelines.
· Collaborate with project managers, other trades, and contractors to coordinate electrical work within overall construction schedules.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.
· Adapt to remote working conditions, including extended stays on site and working in variable weather conditions.
Qualifications
· Minimum Experience and Skills Requirements:
· Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician, preferably with Red Seal endorsement, recognized by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.
· Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair in construction settings. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes.
· Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and workplace safety regulations.
· Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues effectively and efficiently.
· Experience working in remote or challenging environments is an asset.
· Capable of supervising apprentices and working collaboratively with other trades.
· Good physical condition, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
