We are looking for a well-experienced Chef De Partie- Tandoor to work for Sula Indian Restaurant Commercial Drive, 1128 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC, V5L 3X2, Canada.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take full responsibility for the tandoor station, overseeing daily preparation and service of tandoor-based dishes during all service periods.
Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori items, including breads (naan, roti), meats, seafood, and vegetarian dishes using traditional clay oven techniques.
Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables using authentic spice blends, yogurt-based marinades, and seasoning methods to ensure proper flavour development and consistency.
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, including temperature control, fuel management, and safe handling of high-heat equipment.
Plan and execute daily mise en place for the tandoor section based on expected service volume, ensuring timely preparation and availability of ingredients.
Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure synchronization of tandoor items with curries, rice, and other dishes during service.
Monitor food quality during service by checking doneness, texture, and presentation, and making real-time adjustments as needed.
Supervise and guide kitchen staff assigned to the tandoor station, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established standards.
Maintain consistency in portioning, presentation, and plating of all tandoor dishes in line with restaurant specifications.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 5 years or more in the Food Industry or equivalent.
Language: English
Hourly Wage: $36.60 to $ 38 for 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
