CARPENTER – FULL-TIME
APCON CONSTRUCTION GROUP OF COMPANIES LTD., located at Unit 364, 8158 128 Street, Surrey, BC British Columbia is currently seeking a full-time skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our construction team.
Position: Carpenter
Location: Surrey, BC – Various construction sites
Wage: $38.40 per hour
Overtime: 1.5 times after 8 hour per day and 40 hours per week
Hours: 40 hours per week
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: As soon as possible

Education: Secondary school graduation certificate
Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience

Job Duties
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans and sketches to determine construction requirements.
• Take accurate measurements and prepare work layouts in accordance with building codes and project specifications.
• Construct and install structural components, including foundations, floor systems, subflooring, walls and roof structures.
• Install and finish windows, doors, stairs, trim, mouldings and related hardware.
• Determine the materials and quantities required for projects and assist with estimating material and labour costs.
• Perform renovation, repair, maintenance and finishing work on residential and other wooden structures.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and install wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other construction materials.
• Ensure work is completed safely, accurately and according to project plans and applicable building standards.
• Work collaboratively with other construction workers and trades to complete projects within required timelines.
Requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in residential or general construction carpentry.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and plans.
• Strong measuring, cutting, assembling and finishing skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work involving bending, crouching, kneeling and lifting.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Environment
The position is on-site and will involve working at various construction locations. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a physically demanding construction environment.
