(Grocery Store Butcher)
We are looking for a well-experienced Grocery Store Butcher for The Grocery Store, located at 4211 Village Square, Whistler, BC, V8E 1H4, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
● Clean, trim and prepare meat for processing, cutting and retail sale while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste.
● Ensuring the fresh meat case, prepared food items hot & cold and meat deli items refrigerated and frozen are appropriately stocked for the days business.
● Prepare special cuts of beef, pork, lamb and other meats ordered by customers, ensuring accurate cutting, portioning and presentation.
● Cut poultry into parts and prepare fish into steaks and fillets using safe and appropriate cutting techniques.
● Grind meat, prepare special sausages and slice cooked meats in accordance with established recipes, specifications and food-safety requirements.
● Weigh, wrap, label and package prepared meats accurately for retail display and sale.
● Prepare and maintain attractive displays of meat, poultry and fish products, ensuring proper rotation, freshness and presentation.
● Supervise and train butchers and meat cutters in cutting methods, equipment use, sanitation, packaging and customer-service procedures.
● Monitor the quality, freshness, temperature and storage of meat, poultry and fish products in refrigerated work areas.
● Clean and sanitize knives, saws, grinders, cutting surfaces and other equipment, and maintain an organized and safe meat-preparation area.
● Assist customers with product selection and special orders while working accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced grocery-store meat department.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience & Skills: 2 years to less than 3 years of meat cutting, butcher shop, supermarket meat department or related experience.
Language: English
Hourly Wage: $23.50 to $25.00 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent
Work Schedule: Early morning, morning, day, evening and weekend shifts
Work Location: On site in a cold/refrigerated environment
