(Bakery Department Manager - Night Shift)
We are looking for a well-experienced Bakery Department Manager - Night Shift for Summerhill Market located at 129 Railside Rd, North York, ON M3A 1B7, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, direct and evaluate daily operations of a large-volume bakery during night and early-morning production shifts.
Manage bakery staff, assign duties and coordinate production schedules to ensure breads, pastries, desserts and other baked goods are completed on time.
Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff, monitor performance, provide operational guidance and conduct performance reviews.
Participate in and oversee the preparation and baking of mixed doughs and batters, ensuring products meet established recipes, quality and presentation standards.
Determine the bakery products and services to be offered based on production requirements, customer demand and established merchandising plans.
Locate, select and procure bakery ingredients, packaging and merchandise for resale while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and product availability.
Monitor ingredient usage, production yields, food costs, waste and stock rotation, and take appropriate action to improve operational efficiency.
Oversee the display, pricing, merchandising and sale of bakery goods, desserts and pastries, ensuring products are properly labelled and attractively presented.
Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, allergen-control, equipment-safety and workplace procedures throughout bakery production and service areas.
Resolve operational issues, customer requests, complaints, equipment concerns and supply shortages, and communicate priorities to the incoming management team.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience & Skills: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in bakery operations, including staff supervision and large-volume production coordination.
Language: English
Annual Salary: $64,000 to $87,000 per year for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Work Location: On site; early-morning and night shifts
Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay
